First, thank you — truly — for all the kind words and warm wishes about the birth of our little Clara. It means so much to have so many of you sharing in our joy. And now, who wants to help with diaper duty?
The winner of the baby pool (and the accompanying $100 West Elm gift card) picked May 14th as Baby P’s birthday. Although we’d love to tell you how many people guessed that date, combing through 5,600+ entries isn’t exactly top of the priority list right now. We will say that May 14th was a relatively uncommon choice — many people, like Sherry, expected Clara to arrive late or right on her official due date, which happens to be today. In our informal family pool, not a single relative picked May 14th. Surprisingly, my own guess was the closest: I chose May 15 at 4:15 a.m., which was only about 10 hours off. That wasn’t because of any paternal intuition — I selfishly picked my own half-birthday — but she surprised us by arriving a bit early.
The $100 West Elm gift card, however, does not go to me. It goes to one randomly selected entrant from our baby pool who correctly chose May 14th. Random.org helped us pick the winner, and that lucky person is Sue. Congratulations, Sue!
