Reader Redesign: Glossy Makeover Tips for Magazine Lovers

When we showcased Lindsay’s kitchen makeover as a Reader Redesign back in October, we had no idea it would catch the attention of Kitchen Makeovers, a Better Homes & Gardens special interest publication. They found Lindsay’s before-and-after photos on our blog and reached out to feature her kitchen. Needless to say, we were thrilled — and Lindsay, who recently welcomed a new baby, was excited to learn her kitchen would be in print.

The result appeared a few months later in their Spring 2009 issue, in a column titled Do It For Less. True to the column’s spirit, Lindsay kept costs minimal — she spent just $50 on primer and paint. The refreshed cabinets now look expensive without the price tag.

There’s more good news coming: the Kitchen Makeovers team has requested information on several other Reader Redesign projects. They’ve already scheduled another reader’s kitchen for an upcoming Winter issue. Stay tuned for more updates.
