For maximum durability and portability, especially for travel, I’ll guide you through making your tangram set long-lasting and even magnetic!
Step-by-Step Assembly Guide:
- Print Your Tangrams: Download and print the tangram pattern onto sturdy cardstock. Using cardstock instead of regular printer paper will make your pieces more durable and easier to handle.
- Cut Out the Shapes: Carefully cut out each of the seven tangram shapes using a paper slicer for clean, precise lines, or a good pair of scissors. Accuracy here helps the pieces fit together perfectly.
- Prepare Challenge Cards: The included design challenge cards are printed four to a page. Cut these out as well. These cards will guide your child in creating specific figures.
- (Optional) Laminate for Durability: For added longevity and to protect against wear and tear, run each tangram piece and the challenge cards through a Xyron Creative Station or a laminator. This will encapsulate them in a protective layer, making them waterproof and tear-resistant.
