We had a little mini-makeover to share. John stayed home sick today (feeling flu-ish), and while he napped on the couch I quietly swapped a never-used reading chair for our old kitchen table that had been living in the basement. The result: a tidy card-writing and present-wrapping station in the third bedroom so we have more reason to visit our favorite wall of frames.
One hall closet had become a jumble of bags, wrapping paper, tissue, and ribbons, while my desk in the den was overflowing with cards, stationery, and envelopes. Creating a compact gift-wrapping and letter-writing base with everything organized and accessible solved both problems. John woke up to a much emptier coat closet and a whole new reason to linger by the frame wall. On to the photos.
Here’s the old chair-in-the-corner setup:

And here’s our new present-wrapping and letter-writing station, assembled entirely from baskets, folders, cups, bags, and even a planter we already had—love a free mini-makeover:

Some practical, easy-to-replicate details: first, a planter full of wrapping paper—so much easier to manage than a houseplant:

Next, my bag basket. I repurposed a woven basket that once held books into a tidy spot for gift bags and tissue paper. Having everything visible will prevent duplicate purchases and save money long term.

My favorite part is the colorful, ultra-organized desktop. I fashioned a makeshift filing solution from an old basket—printed manila folders keep envelopes and cards for every occasion neatly separated.

Here’s another angle to show how everything stays within easy reach for quick wrapping and writing sessions.

I’m excited to start writing thank-you notes and wrapping gifts. This little setup makes celebrating birthdays and special moments so much easier—and a lot more fun.
