There were tons of sales this weekend—almost everything we still sell from our house was deeply discounted. I’d wanted to get a heads-up out to anyone who’s been eyeing pieces from our home, but we just got back from spring break and had Easter and family stuff, so it didn’t happen. Then many of the sales kept running past their advertised end dates, so here’s a quick update for fellow deal hunters. I’ve also included short notes on how the items have been holding up.
First up: our kitchen stools, which we’ve been so happy with. They were a steal even at full price, and right now you can get free shipping with the code SHIPFREE. The backs give good support for adults and extra stability for kids who can’t sit still.

Next is our dining room chandelier, currently $75 off. It’s over two feet in diameter, so $303 for a multi-bulb fixture that size feels like a solid value. We have it on a dimmer so it can be moody for grown-up dinners or bright when kids are making a mess.

Our blue wooden side chairs began life as a Craigslist find we spray-painted for our second book, but if you want the same look without the DIY, there’s a very similar pair on sale at Target (two for $104). I love the mint and gray versions best, though white and black are classic and versatile too.
In the office we have tufted desk chairs that we’ve used for years—truly ridiculously comfy. We removed the wheels from ours, and aside from that they still look and feel like new. They’re currently part of a free shipping promo plus 25% off with the code YAY25OFF. We have navy, but they come in several colors.

Our metallic rug in the office is 62% off with free shipping—this rug handles everything (yes, even Play‑Doh). The bench is 26% off with free shipping as well; the navy velvet and wood legs look much nicer in person than photos show.
We no longer sell the star light in our foyer, but there’s a similar Pottery Barn option on sale for $143. It’s slightly smaller, which makes it versatile for hallways, bathrooms, foyers, or even over a small table.

Our stair runner currently has a free shipping promo. We ordered two runners for our makeover and have a full how-to for installing them elsewhere. After three years with two kids and a dog it’s still A+: no lingering stains after spot-treating with mild soap and water, and it looks new despite heavy use. It’s built for active households.

My favorite faux fiddle leaf figs are on sale at Target—if you’ve wanted one, now might be the time. I have a few stashed for the beach house; they look great beside real plants and hold up well in photos and in real life.

In the bedroom, our side tables are 35% off with free shipping. They aren’t cheap, but I love the faux-nine-drawer look (there are actually three functional drawers) and the hidden plug strip on the back that lets you flip bedside lights on and off without leaving bed. That feature is a true luxury for the chronically lazy at lamp switches.

Our hallway lights currently have free shipping with the code SHIPFREE. For reference, we have standard 8′ ceilings and tall John (he’s 6′) clears them with about five inches to spare, so they work well in hallways, bathrooms, and foyers. There are also some nice decor pieces at the same store right now.

The rug in our daughter’s room is on final clearance, so it’s substantially reduced. We’ve had it for years with no pulling, unraveling, or stubborn stains, even though it’s a lighter color—great for bedrooms and living areas (avoid high‑traffic kitchens). The pink inlay mirror over her dresser is sold out in that color, but the blue version is heavily discounted and looks amazing.

In our son’s room (and the guest room) we use a quatrefoil-shaped light with multiple bulbs that brightens the space really well. It’s 33% off with free shipping and looks more expensive than it is thanks to the brass/bronze finish. His rug is one of my favorite finds—if that exact one isn’t available, there’s a very similar neutral option on sale with free shipping right now.
Our bathroom mirrors, which get a lot of questions, are 26% off and also currently qualify for free shipping.

In the laundry room, my mint garbage can (perfect for lint and fuzzy pocket treasures) and the matching mint caddy (for dryer balls and lint rollers) aren’t individually discounted, but there’s free shipping with the code SHIPFREE. I tend to add a few things to the cart when I see decor I love, so that’s usually how small extras make their way home.
So there you go: a roundup of items we’ve bought, lived with, and recommend, plus current deals where available. Hope this helps if you’ve been waiting for a sale or wondering how something holds up in a busy family home. Happy bargain hunting—and maybe hire someone to sunscreen your kids while you’re on vacation? Just kidding… sort of.
Psst—Curious about other items in our house? There’s a shop page with sources and our paint colors if you want a full list.
