We generally don’t welcome mushrooms on the internet, and we certainly don’t appreciate unexpected surprises appearing in our yard. Case in point: a giant cluster of mushrooms that showed up out of nowhere.
When we left for our evening walk yesterday, I thought a pile of leaves had been flattened by the morning rain. Instead, it was a large mass of mushrooms that had seemingly appeared in less than 24 hours. Not exactly the curb appeal we’re aiming for these days.
I like to think of myself as a fun guy who can admire the marvels of nature—it’s impressive that so many mushrooms emerged so quickly—but this sudden bloom had to be removed. Fortunately, they were easy to clear away, though it required dealing with quite a bit of slimy residue. I’m hoping they don’t stage a magical comeback anytime soon.
