We’ve been holding onto a fun secret, and now we’re ready to share it. Recently we took a little road trip that turned into a memorable blogger meetup — a real-life crossover that felt a bit like the social version of a TV event. No cliffhangers here: we’re spilling the details.

That’s Katie Bower from All Bower Power. After months of exchanging comments and emails, Katie invited John and me to her lovely Atlanta home. We happily accepted and turned the invitation into a three-day visit. We spent our time catching up, chatting late into the night, and enjoying casual downtime together (the guys even squeezed in a racquetball match while we sat nearby and talked for hours).
It wasn’t all play — we also worked on a small decorating project together. Katie and I teamed up to rearrange a corner of her bedroom using just things she already owned. The result was a no-cost refresh that we captured on video. John and Jeremy quietly filmed our process, so you can expect a short step-by-step clip showing how a few simple changes can make a space feel new.

Since readers often ask to peek inside closets, we decided to share a few photos from Katie’s dressing room while we were there. We’re calling the feature “Closet Crashing” and plan to keep it going — it’s a fun way to explore how different people organize their wardrobes. Katie’s closet is bright and cheerful, organized by color and thoughtfully arranged.

You might notice some similarities to John’s closet setup: both of us use Ikea wardrobes with curtains in front for concealed storage. Katie’s space leans more colorful — a welcome contrast to my mostly black wardrobe. I usually photograph John’s side more because his shirts show up better in photos, while my clothes tend to blend into one dark palette.
Katie also has a smart jewelry setup. She uses clear Ikea drawers that slide out for easy access and visibility, which makes keeping pieces organized and ready to wear a breeze.

Her jewelry is organized by color and material, so finding a matching piece is quick and simple. The wall of wardrobes in her extra bedroom provides plenty of storage with bins, baskets, shelves, and hanging rods, making it easy to keep everything in its place. The organized dressing area was especially inspiring and showed how practical solutions can still look stylish.

That’s a peek at Katie’s space and a preview of the content we’ll be sharing. We had such a great time together — full of conversation, collaboration, and creativity — and we captured lots of photos and footage to share with you. Keep an eye out for the decorating video and more closet-crashing inspiration coming soon.
