First things first — Merry Christmas to everyone! We’re spending time with family, so here’s a pre-written post to enjoy while we relax.
Recently we tackled cleaning up our iBook’s overloaded hard drive. What started as a mission to delete files quickly turned into a sentimental scavenger hunt: instead of clearing space, we wound up keeping more memories. The bad news: the hard drive didn’t get much lighter. The good news: we uncovered some delightful finds to share.
Our favorite rediscovery was a collection of video clips. Among the many snippets of puppy-sized Burger were a few home-related videos that stood out. Most enjoyable were the video tours Sherry once recorded of her old NYC apartments to send to a friend in Iowa. We thought they’d be fun to share with you.
The first of three pre-Young House Love videos features Sherry’s studio apartment in Greenwich Village, New York City. Watch and listen for these charming details:
- How Sherry added color to her walls without upsetting the landlord
- Her early experiments in defining spaces using different flooring
- Hints of Sherry’s bargain-hunting instincts even then
- Her amusing past idea of what constitutes “a lot of storage” in a kitchen
