- Those are the infamous, indeed treacherous, back stairs at our beloved beach house that became a topic of discussion in today’s episode. As you can see, the design incorporates sliver-thin triangular steps around the curve, presenting a particularly tricky ascent and descent. Despite their challenging geometry, it was actually one of the last two steps at the very bottom that led to my recent slip – ironically, these are typically considered the easiest and widest part of the entire staircase! This unexpected incident highlighted the urgent need for enhanced safety measures.
- To address this, we’ve invested in these transparent stair treads, which we plan to install this coming weekend during our next trip to the beach house. Our hope is that these subtle yet effective additions will significantly improve grip and prevent future slips, blending seamlessly with the existing aesthetic while prioritizing safety.
