Thanks to a few strategically placed nails, our little guest bedroom frame project finally filled that blank wall. We were pretty pleased with the result:

But the moment the last frame was up, we knew we wanted more. So, of course, we made another quick trip to Target to pick up a few additional frames.
Back home, I barely set my keys down before Sherry had four new frames artfully arranged on the wall. She later admitted to making a few trial nail holes behind some of the frames while she adjusted spacing and alignment. The extra pieces really improved the overall look.

What did we put in the new frames? We decided to stick with the “history” motif established by the vintage Richmond map and filled the new spaces with old family photographs. Here’s a closer view:

Two of the 8×10 frames hold baby portraits of Sherry and me—both captured with our mouths wide open. One of the 5×7 frames shows my mom walking my chubby baby self along the beach, and the other contains a striking black-and-white portrait of Sherry’s dad from 1964.
We love how the gallery wall is coming together, and now we’re both eager to keep adding more frames until the entire wall is filled. Expect more updates as we continue to build the collection.
