When Katie sent photos of her living room overhaul, the transformation was striking. Below is the note she sent with the images.
Hi everyone! I wanted to share our living room redesign. When we first saw this house, the living room (and honestly the whole place) wasn’t our style at all.
Since we moved in a few big life events happened (including welcoming baby boy #3 last summer), so it felt especially good to refresh the room. We painted, changed the lighting, and found several great pieces on Craigslist and at garage sales.
The drapes are repurposed from my son Isaac’s nursery with added pom-pom trim.
I’m also loving my new canvas from Surface View. Now I’m toying with the idea of painting the walls a darker shade—maybe navy blue, charcoal gray, aubergine, or chocolate. What do you think? Uh oh, I have to go—my husband is rolling his eyes at me! Hope you enjoy the space as much as we do. – Katie
Thanks for sharing, Katie! She also tells a helpful tale about saving a lot of money when buying the large rug for the space—check her blog post for the full story. As for favorite details: I’m taken with the graphic throw on the sofa and the skull artwork. Sherry’s top picks are the wall sconces, the sofa, and—unsurprisingly—the egg chair.
Which color would you vote for the walls? We thought it would be fun to take an informal poll—leave your pick and tell us why.
