The photo below, taken long before our laundry room was fully completed, offers the best perspective on how high the plugs for the washer and dryer were originally installed. We didn’t really notice this oversight until the actual washer and dryer were delivered and installed, revealing that the plugs would stick up well above the appliances. This high placement was problematic because it directly interrupted the valuable wall space where we intended to add a practical shelf for laundry essentials. Thankfully, we were able to rectify this issue by having our electrician drop the dryer plug about six inches. We deliberately had our thermostats installed near corners of walls, a strategic move to prevent them from becoming visual obstructions in the middle of a wall. We knew from experience that a centrally placed thermostat would inevitably interfere with our future plans for hanging art and would forever be a minor aesthetic annoyance. Upstairs, we strategically positioned it right outside the entrance to the main bedroom, ensuring ample, uninterrupted wall space within the room for decorative pieces. This foresight allowed us to maintain the clean lines and artistic potential of our walls.
