Beyond the heartwarming moments, this extended weekend also marked the triumphant culmination of several exciting home renovation projects we’ve been eagerly anticipating. One of the most satisfying additions, a stylish pendant light from CB2, now elegantly illuminates our newly defined dining area, instantly transforming the space. It’s truly amazing how a single fixture can completely redefine a room’s character and functionality, adding both charm and purpose.

The seeded glass adds a touch of vintage charm and texture, diffusing the light in a soft, inviting way that complements the kitchen’s refreshed aesthetic. Of course, a renovation is rarely without its minor imperfections; if you happen to notice some unsightly ceiling marks in the photo, rest assured, we’ve got some spackling and painting on our to-do list to make everything pristine!

Perhaps one of the most impactful and transformative projects we undertook was the complete replacement of all the windows throughout our entire house. We opted for modern double-hung windows, a classic and highly functional choice, equipped with advanced features like Argon gas fills and Low-E coatings. Argon gas, an inert gas sealed between the panes of glass, significantly improves thermal performance by reducing heat transfer, keeping our home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The Low-E (low-emissivity) coating, a microscopically thin, transparent metallic layer applied to the glass, reflects radiant heat, further contributing to energy savings while also blocking harmful UV rays that can fade furniture and flooring.
