Embarking on a journey with your best friend is one of life’s purest joys, especially when you’ve navigated 24 years of friendship across different cities. The sheer delight of packing light – just for yourself, no family logistics to manage – and anticipating a few nights of blissful sleepovers in an exciting new destination is unparalleled. It’s an opportunity for uninhibited exploration, where rules like “dessert for breakfast” become delightful realities, and every moment feels truly euphoric. These treasured escapes offer a profound chance to reconnect, recharge, and create unforgettable memories, reminding you why these bonds are so invaluable.

PInk Jeep Tour Offroading Among Red Rocks In Sedona Arizona

Our most recent adventure took us to Sedona, Arizona – a place that had always been on my best friend’s radar from her childhood family trips, but was entirely new to me. The moment she pitched it, I was captivated. Sedona’s allure is undeniable: breathtaking red rock formations, invitingly warm temperatures, legendary mystical vortexes, captivating shops brimming with crystals, and the promise of a serene pool oasis. It was an immediate “yes” to a destination that promised both relaxation and mystical exploration. This trip was destined to be a unique blend of spiritual discovery and thrilling adventure, set against one of the most visually stunning backdrops in the American Southwest.

Luxurious Retreat: Our Stay at Enchantment Resort Sedona

For our Sedona getaway, we decided to indulge and book a stay at the renowned Enchantment Resort. This luxurious property had been on my best friend’s wishlist for years, and one look at its amenities, like the stunning lounge area adjacent to one of its several outdoor pools, solidified our decision. The resort’s seamless integration into the majestic landscape and its reputation for unparalleled service promised an experience far beyond the ordinary. It was the perfect setting for a girls’ trip where every detail contributed to a sense of pampered relaxation and awe-inspiring natural beauty.

While an investment at around $500 per night each for our three-night stay, we embraced what we affectionately call “girl math.” The logic is simple: a best friend trip means two households are splitting the cost of one incredible room. This approach makes splurging on a top-tier resort like Enchantment Resort Sedona not only feasible but also incredibly sensible, especially since our husbands (sorry, John!) typically prefer more rustic, less resort-centric getaways. It’s a win-win, allowing us to luxuriate in comfort and enjoy exquisite amenities together, making every dollar spent feel like a well-deserved treat. This shared experience amplified the value of our luxurious escape, creating memories far richer than any solo adventure could.

A moment of gratitude is certainly due to our understanding partners. Both our husbands recognize the profound fulfillment these reconnection trips bring to us and wholeheartedly encourage us to make time for them, happily taking on childcare responsibilities. It’s a reciprocal arrangement; we gladly support their equally unique getaways – think cattle ranches complete with chickens, far from the resort luxury we seek! These diverse escapes ensure everyone gets a much-needed break and returns refreshed, even if our destinations couldn’t be more different. This mutual support system truly allows us to cherish and fully immerse ourselves in these soul-filling adventures.

Returning to our stay at the Enchantment Resort Sedona, it felt less like a resort and more like a beautifully curated village of casitas nestled within the dramatic red rocks. We shared a spacious suite, thoughtfully designed with a cozy kitchen area, a convenient beverage fridge, an inviting fireplace that added a touch of warmth, and a lavish, oversized bathroom. The highlight for us was undoubtedly the lovely balcony, which offered stunning, unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. Each morning, stepping out onto that balcony was a fresh surprise, as we spotted a different array of local wildlife roaming on the grounds below – a detail I’ll elaborate on shortly.

This resort truly served as an exceptional home base for our Sedona girls trip. Its expansive grounds invited leisurely strolls between the various shimmering pools and exquisite restaurants. Beyond dining and relaxation, Enchantment Resort boasted an array of appealing amenities, including chic boutiques for a spot of retail therapy, a luxurious spa for ultimate pampering, and even a unique crystal meditation room, perfectly aligning with Sedona’s spiritual vibe. Our stay was further enhanced by a variety of complimentary events, from captivating stargazing expeditions under the clear desert sky to an enchanting discovery of the chef’s garden, where fresh herbs and vegetables are cultivated for the resort’s dining experiences. It was a holistic retreat, offering both serene relaxation and engaging activities.

When I say this resort is “in the mountains,” I mean it’s truly an integral part of the landscape, enveloped by the magnificent red rock formations. The novelty of this spectacular setting never diminished. Every glance offered a new, breathtaking vista of towering mountain views, creating a constantly stunning backdrop to our entire stay. It wasn’t just a place to sleep; it was an immersive experience where nature’s grandeur became an extension of our accommodations. The sheer scale and beauty of the Sedona red rocks, visible from almost every vantage point within the resort, left an indelible impression and made Enchantment Resort an unparalleled destination.

Before diving into more details and a trove of additional photos from our Sedona adventure, I must share this delightful AI-generated poster my best friend created pre-trip. Its charmingly quirky spellings—”Vertexs,” “Sheiry,” “Girts Girls Trxps,” and “Jetepes”—only add to its unique appeal. The fact that this is the “modiated version” (whatever that truly implies!) makes it even more amusing. It’s quite entertaining how AI can sometimes struggle with basic spelling, especially for names it was explicitly given, yet produce such creatively whimsical designs. The playful inclusion of one of us playing a flute in the artwork further cements its status as a true masterpiece of unintentional humor and artistic flair.

Sedona Girls Trip: A Quick Video Snapshot

For a dynamic glimpse into the highlights of our unforgettable Sedona girls trip, this concise video offers a fantastic two-minute recap. It captures the essence of our adventure, from exhilarating Pink Jeep tours to a deeply spiritual vortex experience, and plenty of shopping. Make sure to watch until the very end to witness my unparalleled athletic prowess – a moment that will surely leave you breathless.

Now, let’s delve deeper into the additional photos and intricate details that a two-minute video simply couldn’t encompass, beginning with our journey to this incredible destination.

Journey to the Heart of Sedona: Getting There

As there are no commercial flights directly into Sedona’s small airport, travelers typically choose between flying into Flagstaff, located about 45 minutes north, or Phoenix, roughly two hours south. We opted for Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) due to the greater availability and more economical flight options. My best friend even scored a convenient direct flight from Washington D.C., while I had the pleasure of encountering an adorable therapy dog at the airport during my wait for her arrival.

After landing, we secured a rental car and embarked on the scenic two-hour drive to Sedona. I highly recommend aiming for an early arrival to avoid navigating the winding roads at night. Our flights unfortunately didn’t land until around 9 PM PST, and a lengthy rental car line further delayed us. Consequently, we didn’t reach Sedona until well past midnight, which, with the time difference, felt like 2 AM for me and a staggering 3 AM for my East Coast best friend. Despite the late start, the journey itself, as we approached the glowing red rocks under the moonlight, was a memorable part of our Sedona experience.

Enchanting Encounters: The Wildlife of Sedona

This aspect of our trip deserves its own dedicated section because the wildlife encounters in Sedona were truly extraordinary! Upon our initial arrival, spotting a tiny lizard scurrying across the curtains felt comfortingly familiar, reminiscent of my Florida home. However, the sight of wild mule deer and javelinas freely roaming the Enchantment Resort grounds was a stark and thrilling contrast to anything I had ever witnessed. It added an unexpected layer of wilderness and wonder to our luxurious retreat, making every outdoor moment an opportunity for discovery.

Small Mule Deer and Lizard On Curtain In Sedona Arizona

The mule deer, with their distinctive features, struck us as a fascinating cross between a donkey and a conventional deer, quite unlike the deer species common in my region. Even more intriguing were the javelinas, animals I had never encountered before. While they bear a superficial resemblance to wild boars, we quickly learned they are, in fact, more closely related to rhinos and hippos! Watching these unique creatures move gracefully through their natural habitat, often just beyond our balcony, provided endless entertainment and underscored the rich biodiversity of the Sedona landscape. Their presence made our mornings and evenings at the resort feel truly special, immersing us deeper into the desert’s magic.

Javelina Animals Running Around Enchantment Resort In Sedona Arizona

Indeed, I’ve used a lot of capital letters in describing Sedona’s wildlife, and I wholeheartedly stand by it! My best friend and I found immense joy in our leisurely walks around the resort, often after indulging in a delicious meal, specifically to seek out and observe these captivating furry residents. Each sighting, whether a graceful mule deer or a curious javelina, added a layer of excitement and connection to nature that truly distinguished our Sedona girls trip. It was a highlight we frequently discussed, a constant source of wonder that made our stay at Enchantment Resort feel truly wild and unique.

Adventure and Spirituality: Activities in Sedona

Our Sedona girls trip was a perfect blend of embracing our “woo-woo” spiritual sides and diving into exhilarating adventures. We fully immersed ourselves in the unique mystical vortexes and crystal-related experiences that Sedona is famous for, allowing ourselves to be open to its powerful energies. Alongside this spiritual exploration, we sought out thrilling activities that undeniably got our hearts pumping, ensuring a well-rounded trip filled with both profound reflection and pure adrenaline. Sedona truly offers something for every type of explorer, catering to both the soul and the spirit of adventure.

1. A Guided Vortex Tour with Blue Bear Tours

Weeks before our arrival in Sedona, we wisely pre-booked a guided Vortex Tour through the highly recommended Blue Bear Tours. This experience proved to be profoundly fascinating, offering deep insights into the history and spiritual significance of several key sites, as well as the intricate lore surrounding Sedona’s renowned vortexes. Our guide, Robert, was exceptionally knowledgeable, weaving together historical facts with captivating stories that brought the ancient landscape to life. It was an essential activity for understanding the deeper, mystical draw of Sedona.

Our group was wonderfully intimate, consisting of just six people, which allowed for a personalized and engaging experience. Robert, our guide, skillfully drove us to various sacred spots, revealing phenomena we’d never observed before, such as trees growing in distinct spiral patterns—a telltale sign of a vortex’s energy. A profound highlight was entering a traditional medicine wheel, where Robert explained the deep significance of each entry point. His “cold read” based on where each of us instinctively stepped into the wheel was uncannily accurate and deeply moving; all of us, including myself, found ourselves shedding tears. We also cherished our visit to the tranquil Stupa, often referred to as “Peace Park.” It was a truly transformative and deeply bonding day for everyone involved.

Sherry Hiking In Sedona Arizona To Vortex

Given the moderate amount of hiking and standing involved in the Vortex Tour, wearing comfortable and sturdy shoes is absolutely essential to fully enjoy the experience. One of the most unforgettable moments involved me holding what the guide called “divining rods.” These metal rods are believed to react to the energy of the vortexes. In my hands, they began to cross wildly, then flapped outwards, even hitting my arms – an intensity that genuinely surprised everyone. Our guide exclaimed, “Wow, that’s a lot of energy!” while my best friend, accustomed to my uncanny experiences, hysterically laughed, remarking, “Stuff like this always happens to her!” It was a genuinely mystical, deeply personal, and highly bonding experience, leaving me wishing I had captured it on video and eager to connect further with our fellow travelers.

I wholeheartedly recommend booking your Sedona Vortex Tour with Blue Bear Tours and specifically requesting Robert as your guide, if possible. His insights and the authentic experience he provided were truly exceptional. It’s important to note that no aspect of our trip, including this tour, was sponsored or gifted; we paid for everything ourselves, and no one knew us prior to our arrival. Though, after my energetic interaction with the divining rods, I suspect I might now be remembered as “the lady who made the metal rods go crazy.” It was a small but significant detail that made the spiritual exploration incredibly vivid and memorable.

Having explored Sedona’s spiritual side, our next adventure plunged us headfirst into pure adrenaline. This was an experience devoid of any “woo-woo” elements, unless, of course, you count silently appealing to a higher power to prevent us from careening off a mountain! It was a stark contrast, showcasing the diverse range of activities Sedona offers, from profound introspection to heart-pounding thrills against its dramatic landscapes.

2. Pink Jeep Tour of Broken Arrow

My best friend had previously experienced a different Pink Jeep Tour (these iconic tours are available in several cities) and enthusiastically described it as an exhilarating way to view stunning landscapes from unique vantage points, all while gaining a profound appreciation for simply being alive. Convinced by her glowing review, we also booked this adventure, specifically choosing the “Broken Arrow” tour, several weeks in advance of our Sedona girls trip. This particular tour is renowned for its thrilling off-road segments and incredible access to the heart of Sedona’s red rock wilderness.

Emerging from the Jeep after a two-hour journey that involved climbing and descending an incredibly steep, craggy mountain, my best friend’s description of the tour – appreciating being alive – proved to be an absolute understatement. The sheer intensity of the off-road adventure, with its dramatic ascents and descents, left us with a powerful sense of accomplishment, akin to a triumphant “WOW! I survived!” The terrain pushed the limits of both the vehicle and our comfort zones, offering unparalleled thrills and panoramic views that truly cemented the experience as an unforgettable highlight of our Sedona girls trip.

For someone like me, who battles a fear of heights, and who isn’t particularly fond of a Jeep performing donuts precariously close to a sheer drop-off – or charging up/down a 45% grade only to pause mid-slope with screaming brakes – there were certainly moments where my internal monologue questioned, “WHY AM I PAYING FOR THIS?!?!” Yet, our exceptional tour guide, Rick, made all the difference. My best friend, being from Iowa, insisted I pose for a photo with him, as Rick also hailed from the Hawkeye State. Rick truly was “THE GOAT” (Greatest Of All Time); I’m convinced he could navigate that treacherous terrain blindfolded. But I was incredibly relieved he kept his eyes wide open, ensuring our safe and undeniably thrilling adventure through Sedona’s rugged beauty.

3. Chapel of the Holy Cross

We actually discovered this next remarkable site from fellow adventurers on our Pink Jeep Tour (our group consisted of six people in total). Inspired by their glowing recommendations, we made sure to allocate time to visit the magnificent Chapel of the Holy Cross, an architectural marvel seamlessly integrated directly into the vibrant red rock mountains of Sedona. Its unique construction and dramatic setting make it a truly iconic landmark, blending spiritual reverence with breathtaking natural beauty, a testament to human ingenuity harmonizing with nature’s grandeur.

As a major tourist attraction, the Chapel of the Holy Cross naturally draws large crowds, so expect a fairly packed parking lot. From there, it’s a pleasant uphill walk along beautifully carved stone paths that gracefully lead you to the chapel itself. Once you reach the summit, the panoramic views of the surrounding red rock landscape are absolutely breathtaking, providing a profound sense of awe and tranquility. The chapel’s unique design and its stunning setting make it a must-see. We also thoroughly enjoyed browsing the gift shop located downstairs, which offers a lovely selection of souvenirs and religious items, making for a perfect end to our visit.

Indeed, the Chapel of the Holy Cross is a significant tourist magnet, which led to a series of playful photo opportunities for me! My best friend, ever the enthusiastic documentarian for the blog, kept spotting other visitors posing and urged, “Let me get one more for the blog post!” Her dedication was infectious, resulting in a wonderful collection of memories from this iconic Sedona landmark. On a practical note, regarding the weather during our early October visit: mornings and late evenings offered pleasant sweater weather, hovering around 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the daytime temperatures soared, often reaching 85-90+ degrees. While it was a “dry heat,” I’d liken it to being in a “microwave” – literal waves of intense heat radiating through your body, with minimal breeze or shade in most areas. Don’t forget your sunscreen and sunglasses! This advice is crucial for anyone planning a fall visit to Sedona.

Retail Therapy & Treasures: Our Favorite Shopping Spots in Sedona

1. Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village

We absolutely adored Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, a charming and unique shopping area that felt like stepping into an old-world Spanish village. This picturesque enclave, filled with artisan boutiques and delightful eateries, immediately captivated us. The architecture itself, with its cobblestone pathways, graceful arches, and lush, mature plant life meticulously integrated into the buildings, was stunning. We discovered several wonderful local businesses here, making it our go-to spot for finding thoughtful souvenirs for our children, each item imbued with the unique spirit of Sedona.

Just look at this charming pumpkin display, a testament to Tlaquepaque’s artistic flair and seasonal charm:

As evident from the photos, Tlaquepaque truly embodies the essence of a small, enchanting village. Its charm lies in the intricate details: the lovely old stairs, winding pathways, tranquil fountains, and the most exquisite mature greenery that gracefully drapes over buildings and walls alike. It creates an atmosphere that feels truly magical, inviting visitors to wander and discover hidden gems around every corner. This meticulous integration of nature and architecture makes Tlaquepaque an unforgettable part of the Sedona experience, a sensory delight for any traveler.

Our absolute favorite discovery within Tlaquepaque was Cocopah Jewelry, the fascinating shop visible on the left in the photo below. This tiny storefront felt like a treasure trove, brimming with an incredible array of “curiosities.” From intriguing fossils, delicate shells, and beautifully preserved butterflies to exquisite beads, jewelry-making supplies, and, of course, a dazzling selection of crystals, it truly had it all. I personally chose tiny carved animal crystals and a stunning glass evil eye, while my best friend found a charming necklace with a tiny bell for her daughter. The woman working there was also incredibly kind and helpful, making the shopping experience even more delightful and memorable.

2. Downtown Sedona Shops

Exploring downtown Sedona on foot was another incredibly enjoyable part of our trip. The vibrant streets are lined with a diverse array of establishments, from enticing eateries perfect for a quick bite or an indulgent dessert, to captivating crystal shops that beckon with their mystical allure. Beyond these, you’ll find a variety of souvenir outlets, trendy clothing boutiques, and unique local stores. My excitement in the photo below perfectly captures the thrill of discovering these treasures, especially the magnificent crystals that seem to hum with Sedona’s unique energy. It’s an area where every turn promises a new discovery, making for a truly engaging shopping experience.

We were particularly amused and delighted to stumble upon a shop that truly specialized in an eclectic mix of goods: jewelry, jerky, and then, quite unexpectedly, flutes! This charmingly quirky combination perfectly encapsulated the unique and diverse shopping experience Sedona offers. You could easily dedicate a full day to exploring the varied boutiques and galleries of downtown Sedona, absorbing its lively atmosphere. In contrast, Tlaquepaque, being a more compact village, can typically be explored thoroughly in just a few hours, offering a more curated and art-focused shopping adventure.

A highlight of our downtown exploration was our quest to get our tarot cards read. We visited four or five different establishments, patiently waiting for that undeniable “THIS IS THE ONE” feeling. Our perseverance paid off beautifully when we found Monet, the incredible woman who read our cards at Green Witch Creations. She was absolutely wonderful, leaving such a profound impression that I legitimately tried to track her down on Instagram afterward to become real-life friends. Alas, Monet remains a mysterious and wonderfully un-findable spiritual guide, a true enigma in the heart of Sedona.

Tarot Card Reading And Milagro Charms In Sedona Arizona

Monet operates out of Green Witch Creations, conveniently located right next door to an absolutely amazing gelato spot (more on that in a moment!). Both my best friend and I opted for “angel readings” combined with “charm castings.” This involved pulling various charms from a bag, which Monet skillfully interpreted alongside a spread of tarot cards. It was a deeply meaningful and emotionally resonant hour of our lives, so much so that we both found ourselves shedding tears. Monet, if by some mystical chance you ever read this, please know how much we loved our reading, and that we’re still hoping you’ll consider becoming our real-life friend!

Having teased you with a hint of a fantastic gelato spot, let’s now transition to another delightful aspect of our Sedona girls trip: the incredible culinary experiences.

Culinary Delights: What We Ate in Sedona

Our Sedona girls trip was undoubtedly a culinary journey; we thoroughly ate our way through the town, and every meal was exceptionally satisfying. One particular spot was so good, we eagerly returned the very next day! To kick off our gastronomic recap, let’s start with that amazing gelato place situated right next door to where we had our unforgettable tarot card reading:

Two Arms Holding Gelato at PussyCat Gelato In Arizona

At PussyCat Gelato, I indulged in a delightful combination of cherry and chocolate, while my best friend opted for the refreshing mango and classic vanilla. Both choices were absolutely delicious, offering the perfect sweet treat to complement our day of exploration and introspection in Sedona. It was the ideal spot to savor a moment of pure, simple pleasure, reflecting on the day’s adventures.

Arguably the most memorable meal of our entire Sedona girls trip was the upscale dining experience we enjoyed at Tii Gavo, one of the exquisite restaurants within Enchantment Resort. The absolute standout was the appetizer we shared: grilled peaches paired with creamy burrata, fresh mint, a drizzle of olive oil and honey, and a sprinkle of pistachios. When I say this dish was out of this world, please believe me – I still vividly daydream about its incredible flavors and textures. It was a culinary masterpiece that perfectly captured the essence of fine dining amidst Sedona’s stunning backdrop.

Dinner At Enchantment Resort Restaurant In Sedona AZ

For my main course at Tii Gavo, I opted for a tavern burger, and it too was absolutely fantastic, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. While it’s often wise to venture outside resort grounds for exceptional dining, I can confidently vouch for Tii Gavo at Enchantment Resort – it’s undeniably worth staying in for! We savored this delicious meal on their back patio, which offered breathtaking views of the mountains, complemented by the cozy ambiance of a nearby roaring firepit. The entire experience was nothing short of delightful, blending gourmet cuisine with an unparalleled natural setting.

Now, for the restaurant we visited twice – a true testament to its irresistible charm and delicious offerings! It’s a beloved local favorite in Sedona called Coffee Pot, renowned for its absolutely incredible breakfast menu. Would you believe they boast a staggering selection of 100 different omelettes? Yes, a hundred! What’s even more impressive is that our waitress had every single one memorized by number. You could ask, “Do you know what #76 is by heart?” and she’d confidently reply, “Avocado and bacon! It’s easy! We all know all of them by heart!” This commitment to their craft and customer service made our dining experience truly memorable.

Sherry eating Twice At The Coffee Pot Restaurant In Sedona Arizona

I must confess, I ordered the exact same thing two days in a row at Coffee Pot – a true sign of a winning dish! While I regret forgetting the precise number of my omelette, I vividly remember it was packed with bacon and cheese, along with either chorizo or sausage – a truly satisfying combination. Perhaps it was #47 or #74? And yes, to my absolute delight, I indulged in a generous heaping scoop of cottage cheese as my side dish both days. It was pure breakfast heaven, a comforting and delicious start to our adventurous days in Sedona.

Beyond dining out, one of our cherished traditions on girls’ trips (besides indulging in dessert at any hour) is a fun excursion to a local grocery store for an assortment of snacks and treats. One evening, we put together a delightful spread of cheese, crackers, and wine, enjoying a cozy night in. Another time, we got creative and melted chocolate in the microwave to make our own chocolate-covered strawberries – a perfect DIY indulgence. What can I say? We truly appreciate a good homemade treat and the simple joy of crafting our own delicious moments. This blend of casual and gourmet dining adds a unique flavor to our adventures, making every trip feel personal and special.

Food Eaten In Room At Enchantment Resort Cheese Plate And Chocolate Covered Strawberries

On another occasion, we satisfied a craving by grabbing hot wings from the grocery store and devouring them in the comfort of our room. Our approach to dining definitely struck a delightful balance between experiencing Sedona’s diverse restaurant scene and enjoying convenient, delicious treats from the local market. This mix allowed us to savor both upscale meals and relaxed, in-room indulgences, perfectly complementing our adventurous days. It’s a testament to how flexible and enjoyable a Sedona girls trip can be, catering to every mood and appetite.

During our stay at Enchantment Resort, we were also incredibly fortunate to witness the most beautiful wedding. The couple, Tommy and Baltazar, exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony that was truly a sight to behold. They were blessed with a gorgeously clear evening, and it was a joy to observe the elegantly dressed wedding guests moving throughout the resort, adding to the festive atmosphere. Their happiness and sweetness were palpable, and we couldn’t help but share in their joy, cheering as they passed through the resort en route to their reception. It was a beautiful, heartwarming moment that added an unexpected touch of magic to our Sedona getaway.

The wedding ceremony itself unfolded at the base of one of Sedona’s colossal mountain ranges, bathed in the soft glow of a sunny evening. The photograph above captures a later moment, as the celebration transitioned to their reception dinner. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, a perfect blend of natural grandeur and romantic elegance. If you or anyone you know is searching for an utterly stunning wedding venue, I wholeheartedly recommend looking into Enchantment Resort. It truly delivered an unforgettable, picturesque celebration that looked nothing short of magical.

Beyond Sedona: Our Day Trip to Jerome, Arizona

As our Sedona girls trip drew to a close and we made our way back towards Phoenix to catch our flights home, we embarked on an exciting detour to explore the intriguing “ghost town” of Jerome, Arizona. My best friend, who had visited many years prior, insisted it was an unmissable stop, especially since it was conveniently on our route to the airport – and I’m so glad we listened! This self-proclaimed ghost town earns its name not only from its significantly small population but also from a rich tapestry of haunting lore, particularly surrounding its former hospital, now a hotel perched dramatically at the top of a hill. Jerome offers a captivating blend of chilling ghost stories, charming shops, and even a notably famous restaurant. Many of its historic homes are built directly into the extremely steep mountain ranges, creating a truly remarkable and picturesque sight that feels frozen in time.

One of the first charming establishments you encounter upon entering Jerome is Copper State Gift, a treasure trove of copper trinkets and unique gifts. This shop, easily recognizable by the beautiful copper wind spinners dancing out front, is absolutely brimming with delightful items and cool curiosities. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through. Copper State Gift embodies the town’s mining history and artistic spirit, offering a tangible piece of Jerome to take home, making it a memorable part of our day trip experience.

The image below, on the right, showcases another captivating spot we loved in downtown Jerome: Nellie Bly, a truly cool kaleidoscope shop. Jerome’s downtown area is full of such unique and eclectic stores, making browsing a delightful experience. We genuinely enjoyed exploring a multitude of these diverse shops, finding everything from artisanal crafts to quirky souvenirs that perfectly encapsulated the town’s distinct character. It was a wonderful way to immerse ourselves in Jerome’s artistic and historical charm, complementing our adventurous Sedona girls trip.

At The Coppertown T-shirt store in Jerome, I found the perfect souvenir for John – the cool skeleton shirt you can see him sporting in the photo below. It was a unique find that perfectly captured the quirky, historic essence of Jerome, making it a memorable gift. This small personal touch added another layer of fun to our day trip, allowing us to bring a piece of Jerome’s charm home with us.

Literally everyone we spoke to insisted we couldn’t leave Jerome without having lunch at Haunted Hamburger. This iconic restaurant is spectacularly carved right into the edge of a mountain, promising not just a meal but an experience. As we walked through its intriguing interior and were led to our seats, the anticipation of both the food and the unique setting was palpable, adding an exciting dimension to our Jerome day trip. It’s truly a place where the atmosphere is as much a part of the menu as the food itself.

And what a view it was! We were incredibly fortunate to snag one of the highly coveted balcony seats – a rarity, especially for a party of two. This allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the breathtaking panoramic vista of the mountains stretching out before us, enhancing every bite of our meal. The majestic landscape provided a stunning backdrop, making our lunch at Haunted Hamburger an unforgettable highlight of our day trip to Jerome.

View Of Mountains From Haunted Hamburger In Jerome Arizona

Throughout our entire Sedona girls trip, I found myself craving burgers, and Haunted Hamburger certainly delivered! We made an excellent decision to order a refreshing wedge salad and a decadent bacon mushroom cheddar burger, splitting them both. This strategic choice allowed us to savor a bit of everything and left us perfectly satisfied. After this delightful meal, it was time to head to the airport, where we said our goodbyes, each heading home with hearts full of cherished memories and stomachs aching from laughter. Among the many girls’ trips we’ve enjoyed, this Sedona adventure undeniably stands at the very top of our list. I highly recommend it for an unparalleled escape!
