However, its price tag promised over $130 in savings for the pair, and its online reviews boasted an almost perfect 5-star rating – even better than the highly-rated Whirlpool and Maytag contenders!
Home Depot had this particular model in stock, with a display price of $724 before any promotions. Lowe’s, on the other hand, did not stock it but offered to special order it. The catch? They would only apply one of the 10% discounts. Armed with a printout from Home Depot showing a final price of $651 (before the additional 5% credit card discount), Lowe’s agreed to price match. Ultimately, however, we decided to give our business to Home Depot. They were the ones who initially presented us with this excellent, value-driven option and had it readily available in stock. Truth be told, we also genuinely liked the salesperson there and wanted him to receive the credit for his helpfulness.
